Osprey Aether 85
Now in its 3rd generation and updated for 2010, Osprey’s Aether series backpack offers a lightweight custom fit for every outdoor enthusiast. After owning a 2nd generation Aether 60 for four years now, I was pretty excited to test the new Aether and see the differences in the 2010 line. The awesome folks at Osprey sent me a Magma colored Aether 85 to put through its paces this spring.

I’ve been busy updating some of my winter reviews. We’re having a bit of warmer weather, I’m not sure if winter is ending early here in Maine, or if its just a tease. As much as I like snow, I am ready for Spring!! Check out the reviews, and head over to the forums if you like talking about the outdoors, or your gear!

After having my fun time with the i360, my 20-something sister got her hands on it before we went out for a hike. Not wanting to spoil her fun, I let her give it a go to see what she thought of it. Obviously, I have yet to get it back! Apparently she’s having too much fun with it and has used her “I’m you sister” card with this one and claimed dibs. Although I might steal it back from her the next time I catch it off her head, I told her she had to tell us about it if she wanted to use it.

I don’t know about the rest of the ladies out there, but I had to say that I have spent far too long being frustrated by the pure lack of awesome women’s outdoor gloves that actually can withstand a beating. If I can find a pair that fit, more often than not, they wear out so soon after buying them that I’m left cursing on the side of a mountain with cold, wet hands. Or, if all else fails, I’m stuck wearing men’s gloves that work just fine, but aren’t exactly what I wanted. I want something that fits my wrists snuggly so that snow doesn’t invade. And a fit that doesn’t make me feel like when I put on my dad’s gloves when I was growing up. Oh, and, if it isn’t too much to ask, I’d like to keep some sense of style while keeping my fingers toasty. Is that really too much to ask?
Dakine says it isn’t and they set out to prove it to me. Check out what I have to say about the Dakine Comet Method Women’s Gloves by clicking here!

View Across Lake McDonald
Glacier National Park in Montana is celebrating its Centennial year in 2010 and the summer season will certainly packed with the park’s nearly 2 million annual visitors. Few visitors enjoy the crowding and noise levels in wilderness areas during the peak season. The best time to get out and experience Glacier Natl. Park is during the off-season when there are no crowds, and you’re unlikely to see more than a dozen people at any given time while on the trails.
Glacier Natl. Park is more than one million acres, and with nearly 800 miles of trail, deciding what landmarks to see can be a daunting task. This is where the Glacier Outdoor Center comes in. The Glacier Outdoor Center has been operating in and around Glacier Natl. Park since 1976 and is celebrating their 35th anniversary in 2010 along-side the park’s Centennial.
