Camelbak 2010 Fairfax Hydration Pack

July 29, 2010
Camelbak Fairfax Hydration Pack

Camelbak Fairfax Hydration Pack

The Camelbak Fairfax hydration pack is ultra lightweight and mainly designed to be used by cyclists. I will be using it mostly for hikes shorter than 2 hours. The pack comes in a choice of 4 dual colors, and the pack I have is Dark Cheddar/Graphite. The hydration bladder has a capacity of about 1.5 L (50 oz), and has a dual port so the hydration tube can exit either on the right or left side. The shoulder straps have loops to dress the hydration tube, and a breast strap which can be adjusted horizontally as well as vertically.

Zeal Orb Sunglasses Revisited

July 28, 2010
Zeal Orb Sunglasses in Caramel

Zeal Orb Sunglasses in Caramel

By Suzanne

It has been a few weeks since I first gave the Zeal Orbs a test drive while running. If you remember, I was impressed then by the high quality ZB13s and how they cut the glare no matter what the conditions and kept the bugs out of my eyes. I loved being able to walk inside and outside without having to take them on or off like I had to with so many other pairs of sunglasses in the past. But that was all at the beginning of the summer before the heat, sun, and humidity level increased. And I was really interested in how durable they were in the great outdoors.

Want to hear about how I gave the Zeal Orbs a REAL beating? Click here to read on.

Timex WS4 Expedition Watch

July 27, 2010

by Arnie P

Timex WS4 Expedition Watch

Timex WS4 Expedition Watch

The Timex WS4 Expedition watch is named for its wide screen and four function capability, the functions being; altitude, barometer, thermometer, and compass. The screen is rectangular and is about 1.5 inches by 1 inch, and the band is almost as wide as the screen on the watch. This is the widest band I have worn and I am finding it very comfortable. It has a camouflage design which I find looks better on my wrist than when I was looking at it on the web site.

Update for the Mountainsmith Lookout 45

July 24, 2010

First of all, I was hoping to have more trail miles with the pack by now, but gardening, mowing the yard, and the very hot weather have all put a damper on my enthusiasm to get out and do much hiking.  The two trips I did manage were fairly short but still long enough to get a feel for the Mountainsmith Lookout 45.  Both trips were in the woods near my home.   The one on May the 17th saw a high of 77 F (25 C) and a low of 59 F (15 C). The next trip was on June the 4th and saw a high of 84 F (29 C) and a low of 66 F (19 C).  I hiked about 4 miles (6 km) total on each trip.

Following up with the Pave the Way Jacket…..

July 6, 2010

Danielle Denton

I have had my Pave the Way jacket for a little over a month and have worn it a ton.  Ya know how you worry about having plenty of cute jackets, but usually there’s one front runner that you end up wearing 99.9% of the time?  I pretty much always grab the Pave the Way because it fits great, is very cute, and meets all my needs because it is very functional.

Aquapac Waterproof Cases

July 6, 2010
Aquapac Waterproof Case

Aquapac Waterproof Case

By Suzanne

I love taking my camera everywhere that I go. Anyone that knows me should be able to tell you that. So, needless to say, I absolutely hate it when the rain or water-based activities make me leave a camera behind. But I also don’t have oodles of money sitting around to spend on a waterproof case for it.

But then Aquapac came along and told me that I didn’t need a ton of money to do it. All I needed was their small camera case (MSRP $40) and I could take my favorite accessory everywhere.

Intrigued? I was too. Click here to see what my initial thoughts are of my Aquapac case.

Ola Loa

Ola Loa Sport

Ola Loa Sport Mango Tangerine

By Suzanne

I know that you’ve seen TONS of different energy drinks and mixes in stores lately. But, really, what do they give you? More often than not the ingredients list and nutritional info is just plain scary (and hard to read). So I’ve normally just stuck with water and fruit juice. But then Ola Loa Sport showed up in my mail box. And the ingredients list is filled with things I know and can pronounce. And it’s ALL NATURAL! Yahoo! Bring on the recovery!
