This skirt looks like it will be amazing to run in, hike in, and just run around town in. It is so well designed and constructed that it really was made for a woman’s body. The Happy Girls skirt is the longest skirt in the Skirt Sports lineup; it offers more coverage, without compromising its femininity. It features built-in semi-compression shorties (7” inseam) and three pockets. This skirt is both functional and sophisticated! Measuring 16.5″ in the front and 17.5″ in the back it provides fantastic comfort, fit, and security.

I have absolutely loved this duffle bag and have used it on every trip I have taken since getting it. It is the perfect size for a quick trip to my parents’ or on a fun four day climbing trip. It is very versatile, has great packing ability, and is easy to carry. I haven’t had any issues with it at all and it gets used almost every week. I pack it completely full and it can handle it and is still easy for me to carry long distances.

Finding and not losing a good pair of sunglasses is difficult for me. So far the Native Dash XP Sunglasses have been a great pair and I have enjoyed them so much that they have rarely been off my head (no chance to lose them). Recent trips on the backwaters of Beaufort, SC and the Horsepasture River in Western, NC have given me a closer look at these glasses from Native Eyewear. Click here to see my update on how the Native Dash XP Sunglasses have been performing.

This hydration system doesn’t suck and I mean that literally. Geigerrig has changed the way that that hydration systems work. With a pressurized water bladder system, you don’t have to worry about having to constantly suck on the nozzle to get the water that you need like in traditional water hydration systems. Check out my review here on the Geigerrig Rig 500 pack and “Hydration Engine” to see just why this hydration system doesn’t suck!

First of all, let me apologize for being so late with this update. I used the Pocket Rocket on two short overnight trips back in early spring, then got busy with gardening etc and before I knew it, it was too hot to really enjoy hiking. I thought I might get a chance to do some hiking in the mountains where it is slightly cooler but every time I planned something, a family emergency or something would prevent my going. When I finally got a chance to go on an extended camping trip it was not a backpacking trip, but at this point anything would be better then nothing. To read the rest of the update please click here.

Tired of worrying about keeping your phone or wallet in a cheap plastic sandwich bag when you hit the trails? This simple rollover water-proof, air-tight bag has been in my pack on every adventure I have taken for the past three months. From the mountains to the beach, the Stormproof Pouch has kept my small valuables, mainly my smartphone, safe from the elements, no matter where I have taken it. The ExpressLander was provided was provided by Primus for review purposes.
The ExpressLander runs on white gas. The stove is made mostly of metal and appears very durable. It claims to still be one of the lightest white gas stoves on the market. The package contains a stove, heat reflector, fuel pump, multi tool, and a nylon bag. I did not find the multi tool in my box. Inquiries were made and I received the tool a few days later. I was also provided with a fuel tank with a capacity of 1 L.

I have been using the Baja Baffin shoes daily and all day since I have received them. I have been on several hikes with my backpack loaded to simulate backpacking conditions. I found that on these hikes I did not feel uncomfortable due to my being able to feel the rocks through the soles of the shoe. These hikes were typical of most conditions I would find backpacking.

Another month has gone by and I have been enjoying the Tech4o watch during my fitness walks, hikes, and walks at the beach. I am very familiar with the settings/functions now and I rarely need to reference the manual.

This has been a productive month for me in terms of improving my gear situation. I did receive, from Therm-A-Rest, the snap kit which consisted of 4 male snap tabs and 4 female snap tabs. The instructions call for mounting the tabs directly onto the air mattress to correspond with mating tabs on the blanket. Since I was really pleased with the way the Alpine was secure at the foot end of the blanket, I decided that I would not use snaps on the end. Then I thought of making a strap consisting of a matching set of snaps attached to something. My wife had a piece of 7/8 in wide quilt binding tape in her sewing supplies. I cut a piece 18 ½ in long and sewed the snaps on with nylon thread. It was not very pretty, but it was good enough to try. My plan was to use the strap for the middle set of snaps on the Alpine blanket. It seemed to work well when I tried it on my air pad in the house.

Looking for the best hydration system in the world. Well according to several reviews and awards, the Geigerrig hydration system fits that bill. I will be testing the Rig 1200 which features the 3 L engine (bladder). I have to admit, after one hike I am impressed. However, this test will cover several months so be sure see how it works out over an extended period of time. But for now, I leave you the first installment which can be read in full here.

The Halo Short has been worn the past month in temperatures ranging from the low 50′s to the low 80′s. Even though the short has wool fabric; I am still finding it to be regulating temperature well in these ranges.
Check out my final thoughts here.
