End of Summer Updates

Summer may officially be over, but Northern New England is still having some summer weather – and I am reluctant to let go.  But, I finally updated some reviews.  I spent early summer camping and hiking in Iceland with my daughter.  The rest of the summer was spent on local trips, hiking mostly with my young dogs.  The weather was cool, hot and humid, windy and just about everything in between.

LOWA goes to Iceland

I just got back from an amazing trip to Iceland.  We camped and hiked for 6 days, and I am already thinking about how soon I could go back!  We walked, hiked and climbed a LOT. I was fortunate to be reviewing a pair of LOWA Aerox GTX Surrounds while there.  Read about how they worked out HERE.

Next week, I’m heading to Iceland for some exploring, camping and hiking.  I’m trying to travel light, so I’m only taking two pairs of shoes.  My LOWA Maine GTX shoes for exploring in town, and my LOWA Aerox GTX® Surround‘s for hiking.  The Maine’s arrived back in the winter, but are intended to be a casual, spring/summer/fall shoe. I think they will serve the purpose, especially since we plan on doing a lot of walking.  Read about the Maine’s HERE.

Just Arrived!

I’m really looking forward to doing some hiking in Iceland in 10 days!  Coming with me on my hikes will be the LOWA Aerox GTX Surround Women’s multi-use shoe.   We (my daughter and I) plan on camping and hiking while there, with some kayaking thrown in.  These LOWA s are definitely lightweight, so lets see how they do on the hikes.  Read more about them HERE

Happy Feet

Blue/Grey Hiker socks

I love hiking, and am not always super picky about gear  – I love trying new items, and seeing how they work out.  One thing I am picky about is making sure my feet are happy.  That means comfortable socks and footwear.   Injinji has some new socks coming out, and I was fortunate enough to receive 2 pair.  A pair of lightweight Liner socks, and a heavier pair of Hiker socks.  These won’t be available until fall, but we have a sneak peak!  Click HERE to read my initial thoughts and plans.
