Denver Colorado is the new home of the 2018 Outdoor Retailer Winter Show and this show is the first time it has been held here. I flew in from New Orleans today so I only spent a couple of hours at the show. My main goal today was trying to get the lay of the land since this is a new venue and every one is in a new space.
I started out by visiting the Venture Out section of the show. This is an area where up and coming companies are displaying their new products.
Lander has new products coming out. The Moab phone case that is insulated to help defend battery drain, and a rechargeable lantern called the Cairn that also doubles as a powerbank.
Tincup whiskey also had a booth where they were giving free samples in a tin keepsake shot glass.
One of the best opportunities for networking and catching up with friends takes place during happy hour at the show and in various parties after the show. I went to the SIApres at the Hyatt Strata club and caught up with our friends at BackpackGearTest and had empanadas and beer. There were also cool gear giveaways – but I didn’t win.
Day 2 is my first full day at the show and I look forward to seeing all the new products. Check back in tomorrow for my next update!
