Hello and welcome to the Anderson Bowman Show. I go by Andy and have no problems with most things I am called, but please keep it civil.
As my front page says, I am a middle aged father who is rapidly trying to come to grips with the fact that my young daughter is interested in what daddy does “outside” when he disappears overnight or for a few nights. What I see as a simple backpacking trip is not so simple to explain to a four year old.
I have spent most of my life outside and this love of the outdoors has grown into a full scale obsession with all things that keep me outside and away from the air conditioning. I hike, backpack, walk, run, fish, and just about anything else that requires me to go outside to have fun. I take all that I do very seriously, but the key for me is having fun. If it is not fun, then I am not doing it correctly.
My hope is that my contributions here will provide eeryone with some insight into themselves and how they handle the great outdoors. I will never claim to know it all, but I will have no problem telling you how I do it. All I ask is that you think about what I have to share and use it in a productive manner. If I can help just one person expand the way they enjoy the outdoors, then I have done all that I have set out to do.
Enough of this for now. The woods beckon.
