       Good stuff here and you made a point, that this is a work in progress. This is very true as unless you are extrememly wealthy, you can&#039;t make all of your purchases at once. Plus, you will want to test and review different gear. 
Another note is weight &amp; space to safety &amp; reliability. It took me a while to find my gear of choice. Most of my trips contain my Hilleberg Soulo (1 man tent/feestanding/vestibule) Valandre Mirage sleeping bag, Exped Downmat 7 pump, Katadyn Vario, Jetboil Flash stove for my core items. The only change I make is for when it gets below 20* I switch to my Valandre Bloody Mary bag.
I have used this setup from July to February and from 70* down to the low teens. In differnt weather from clear sunny days to rain, to hail with winds and snow with winds. This setup has not failed me or made me wish for something else. 
In fact I just used this setup on a 10  trip in the backcounty of Idaho last month.
