Last Look at the i360

March 9, 2010

Note from Suzanne (First Reviewer): After having my fun time with the i360, my 20-something sister got her hands on it before we went out for a hike. Not wanting to spoil her fun, I let her give it a go to see what she thought of it. Obviously, I have yet to get it back! Apparently she’s having too much fun with it and has used her “I’m you sister” card with this one and claimed dibs. Although I might steal it back from her the next time I catch it off her head, I told her she had to tell us about it if she wanted to use it. So, here she is…

The i360 Headband is designed to the soundtrack for any activity. I have been using the i360 Headband for about a month and it has worked great. The sound quality is fantastic and the band fits on my big head just fine. I used mine with my Nano 16GB player. All I had to do was slip it into the pouch and connect the headphone jack.

It took some getting used to as the shape of the iPod presses against the temple region, though it is not uncomfortable. I do have to push things around a bit every time I put them on to get the head phone to sit just right. I have used it while running and hiking and the band only slips a little. The only pain about it is that once your ipod is in the band it is really hard to navigate. The screen is hidden behind the fabric so in order to select new music you have to lift the edge of the fabric and peek. Mind you when it’s on your head you can’t see it anyway. It just means that you have to set up your playlist before inserting the ipod. I have only used this band during the winter/cold months. It has kept my ears happily entertained and warm. It fits snug enough that cold air doesn’t slip under. This is an awesome feature since it means that I don’t need to put on anything else over it to stay warm enough. The i360 is all I need now.

The company also states that the band can be washed by disconnecting the speakers and ipod. Needless to say, I was a bit skeptical that it would actually work after going in to water. Afterall, the general idea is to not mix electronics with water. But I decided to test their statement and give the i360 a bath.  After disconnecting the hardware I washed it using a tiny amount of  laundry detergent. The material washed well though it takes a while to air dry. Even better is that, once it was dry, it still worked like a champ! Now I don’t have to run around outside and worry about how gross the i360 is getting. I was just wash, rinse, and repeat. It’s so awesome!

The only feature that I’d love to see with the i360 is to make the logos on it reflective so I can be safer around dusk time. Given that I don’t want to take the i360 off my head, a reflective version would make an awesome addition to their product lineup.

After tons of use the band is going strong and still works as well as it did the first day. I am very impressed by this product and would highly recommend it to anyone, especially the music junkie in your life.
