First of all, I really like good socks. Not much makes me happier than new socks – cushiony and with a good fit. I have big feet – size 11 shoe, and I don’t like socks that are restrictive or that slide down into my boots.
I like how the Endurance Trekker fits and feels. It comes up to my mid-calf and stays there when I am hiking. The band around my ankle is not restrictive, but seems to keep the socks in place. One of the best features of the socks in my opinion is the bottom. The cushioning is great! Even after hiking for miles, they still feel good and not compressed. I was very impressed that once they were washed they felt as good as new. I wear full hiking boots, because I like the ankle support when I hike, so I like my socks to come up above the height of my boots. The Trekkers are a perfect fit.
I’ve worn these socks more times than I can count. I wear them when hiking, and have worn them to school in cold weather. I am in high school, and a Boy Scout. My troop does at least one hike/campout a month, with a few longer ones during the summer. Last summer we did the 100 mile trek at Philmont Ranch in New Mexico.

I read about a man that is a long distance hiker Eb “Nimblewill Nomad” Eberhart wore a pair of Endurance Trekkers for 10,000 miles. You can read about him here: http://www.nimblewillnomad.com/odyssey_2009.htm I’ve never even worn a pair of socks for a whole year (not consecutive days). I never imagined someone could do that. I’ll write again next year if mine are still wearable.
I still wear the Trekker’s and like them for hiking and days when I am going to be walking a lot. They’ve probably been washed 20 times, and they still look new. They still have good elasticity in the cuff, so they stay up. There are no wear spots in the heal or toe areas. A nice thing about the Trekkers, is that even after hiking all day in warm weather, I can take my boots off without knocking anyone out. I usually get socks in my stocking at Christmas, so I am hoping for another pair this year. I’ll write more after our next hike – I’m going to keep these on the whole weekend and see how they are when I take them off (and if I can bring them in the house without anyone yelling at me).
