Nike recently sent me their LIVESTRONG DriFit T-Shirts to review. I opened the package and found a nice looking black T-Shirt, with the word ‘Hope’ written across the front. It is part of Nike’s LIVESTRONG line. Most of you may know that LIVESTRONG provides support to those affected by cancer. I tried one on and found the large to fit well for a base layer. I normally wear a large tee and it is roomy. I like it that way so I can put on a long sleeve base layer underneath if needed. Nike does mention that their tees run small and to go up a size if you want it to be roomier. One really nice thing I noticed about the fit is that it is shaped (like a woman) as opposed to being ‘boxy’ like some tees. I like how it fits and looks. I’ve been wearing it while hiking, shoveling and stacking wood. I’ve worn it under a fleece and down jacket. After being outside and moving around for a bit, I warm up and take off a layer. Most days I’ve worn it have been in the high 20s – low 40s F, with some wind. The day I was stacking wood, it was sunny and I did perspire enough that I thought the tee would be wet afterwards. I was surprised when I took off my jacket and fleece (after going inside) that my tee was dry and so was I. DriFIT is described on the company website as: This high-performance, microfiber, polyester fabric wicks sweat away from the body and moves it to the fabric surface, where it evaporates. As a result, Dri-FIT fabric helps you stay dry and comfortable.
We finally got some snow yesterday, so I’ll be out snowshoeing this weekend. I plan on wearing the tee to see how well it wicks away perspiration when I am really exerting myself. I’ll be updating this review soon and will let you know how its working out. It would be nice to be able to wear it out in public after wearing it while getting some exercise. Its a good looking shirt, so being able to do double duty would be a big plus!

So far, I really like the fit, and that under moderately strenuous activity, it (and I ) stayed dry. I’m interested in seeing how it works out under more strenuous activity and different weather conditions. Its machine washable – but how will it look after a few washings? Will the colors stay bright? These are some of the questions I have so far. Check back in a few weeks and see how its going.
