Breaking full force into the technical watersports apparel industry is newcomer SeasonFive, based out of Breckenridge, CO. SeasonFive has come up with a solution for anyone that has worn an uncomfortable wet suit or needed a bit more warmth from a rash guard. Using their proprietary fabric called Atmos 1.0, a blend of TPU and polyester with a 4-way stretch waterproof membrane welded between the two layers, SeasonFive has created an industry first in technical watersports apparel. The lineup launching the end of March is designed to fill the gap between rash guards and wetsuits.
The Barrier series is available in long and short sleeve version and is the key piece of the coming launch. The Barrier features the 4-way stretch Atmos 1.0 fabric rated at a 10k:10k waterproof to breathability ratio, a DWR finish, and flatlock stitching throughout the piece. the Barrier is a standout piece that is set to take that aforementioned gap and fill it perfectly.
After using the Barrier I stand completely by the claim of increased warmth, comfort, and mobility. Nothing on the market even comes close. The fit was great and I would recommend looking for the smaller fitting size because once you are in the water it does feel a little bit larger. I really like that the top is longer than most and I feel it would work really well with the Barrier pants in creating a solid piece that works together almost seamlessly.
If you are any form of watersports enthusiast definitely be on the lookout for the Barrier and the Phantom series pieces from SeasonFive when they launch later this March.
