The Woolrich Elite Lightweight Pant is an extremely versital pant to wear on an everyday basis. If you are the type that likes to carry a lot of things in your pocket, these are the pants for you. (http://www.woolrichelitetactical.com/index.htm)

Here is what Woolrich has to say:

This pant features the same great fit, functionality and durability as our Elite Cargo Pant, but without the two lower leg cargo pockets found on the Elite Cargo Pant.

Features

  • Manufactured of fade resistant, rugged 8.5 oz. 100% cotton canvas.
  • Treated with DuPont Teflon® Fabric Protector for a breathable, durable barrier that repels both water and oil-based spills.
  • 10 strategically placed multi-use pockets: 4 flapped pockets, 4 oversized open pockets and 2 back wallet/ID “bag” pockets.
  • 2 back wallet/ID pockets hold wallet/ID in a normal position, instead of allowing the wallet/ID to drop down to an uncomfortable spot on the back of your thigh.
  • Slim, flapped utility pockets on each upper thigh holds a cell phone, wallet, knife, pistol magazines, cuffs or even a 30-round AR-15 magazine.
  • Wide front pocket openings allow the concealed carry of a small frame revolver or auto.
  • Critical seams are double-needle stitched and bar-tacked at stress points.
  • Side elastic panels in waistband for all-day comfort and freedom of movement.
  • Concealed brass zipper front fly along with a metal tack-button closure.
  • Reinforced 2″ belt loops.
  • Easy care: machine wash, tumble dry and cool iron as needed.
  • Even waist sizes 28″-48″. Inseam even sizes 30″-36″.

  • The 100% lightweight cotton ripstop fabric is soft to the touch and feels great against the skin. For them to be tactical pants, they don’t feel stiff like you would think. The waist band is mostly elastic which gives a great feel around the waist. It doesn’t constrict movement and has a tack button closure.

These pants come with a huge variety of pockets, 10 to be exact. The two hand pockets on the front are nice and deep to keep things from falling out. There are two small utility pockets on the front as well. These are nylon lined and is perfect for small items that need to be gotten to very easily. My iPhone fits perfect in it and it’s nice to be able to get to it when I am sitting down or driving because they are on the front top of the pant leg. It’s also a nice size for a knife, light or any other small tactical gear.

What would tactical pants be without Cargo pockets? These have two, one on each side of the leg. They are a great size, not to small and not to large, and are kept closed by two hook and loop tabs. These are great to hold maps, snacks, small notebook and pen, whatever you want to carry in them.

The rear of the pant has four pockets. This is probably my favorite feature of the pant. Two pockets are the big, deep, “D” pockets they call them. A lot of tactical pants have these. It makes it easy to put big items in the back pocket and easy to get to. But what makes these pants stand out from the rest are the two hidden wallet/ID pockets. For me, I carry my wallet in my hip pocket, and with the “D” pockets, my wallet tends to ride way too low in them and it ends up under my thigh when I sit down and this can become very uncomfortable sometimes. But Woolrich has added the hidden wallet/ID pockets that hold the wallet in the normal area, and it makes it easier to retrieve.

As any tough pant would have, the knees and the seat area are double wall construction to keep those areas from failing. In fact, the knee area has inside pockets for padded knee inserts for extra protection. Along with the oversized reinforced belt loops there is a metal D-Ring for other accessories if needed.

I look forward to wearing these pants a lot and seeing how well they hold up to the outdoors and harsh environments I hope to put them through. Stay tuned…(Pants provided by Woolrich for review purposes)
