Light Lemonade
I recently had the opportunity to try out some Odwalla products. The drinks I tried came in the following flavors: Light Lemonade, Light Limeade, Strawberry Banana Smoothie, Chocolate and Vanilla Protein Monster. All had a very good taste, although they are very different in flavor and consistency. My personal favorite is the Light Lemonade – its light and very refreshing. I put it in the freezer the night before a planned kayaking trip, and then next day it went into my pack. At lunch time, I took it out and had a very cold, refreshing drink. It was pretty warm out, and the Light Lemonade was a bit tart, like a good lemonade should be, not too sweet.

Chocolate Protein Monster
Another favorite, but for totally different reasons is the Chocolate Protein Monster. I find it a gives me a bit of a ‘boost’ when I need it after a good hike, or even before if I am not feeling completely up to it. The taste is good – chocolaty, without any funny aftertaste. Some chocolate flavored drinks have a chalky taste, or no real chocolate flavor. I really appreciate that what I am drinking is healthy – and helps me keep up a good, steady pace. These drinks don’t give a ‘hyper’ boost, like some energy drinks, but more of a sustained boost, that doesn’t spike up, or crash down.

Strawberry Banana Fruit Smoothie
The other drinks are very good also, with the Light Limeade having a slight lime flavor that is tart, but not overly sour. The Strawberry Banana smoothy is good – and was my daughter’s favorite. She liked that she could taste both the strawberry and bananas in the drink, and that it was like a regular smoothie – but healthy. The vanilla Protein Monster has a light vanilla flavor, and isn’t overly sweet, although I found it sweeter tasting than the chocolate.
Since taste is very subjective, I’ll share the nutritional information with you, and let you pick your favorite flavors according to your personal tastes. I found all the drinks to be refreshing and good tasting. The nutritional value, was very good, and the calorie count fairly low. I appreciate that the company uses healthy and organic products.
