I put in a lot of miles and would even classify myself as an ultrarunner or maybe crazy runner who puts in around 50 miles a week running and hiking. This type of mileage along with work and life stress leads to stiff muscles. Moji is a company who creates massage tools to help relieve sore muscles. I will be using two of their tools over the next couple months – Moji Curve PRO and the Moji Foot PRO.
Moji was founded in the 2007 by Victor Viner, an athlete and entrepreneur, “with the goal of keeping people active and pain-free.” They offer three main types of products – the Moji Curve, the Moji Foot and the Moji Mini Pro. The Moji Curve and Foot come in “PRO” versions which have stainless steel massage spheres and the regular versions have plastic massage spheres. The Moji website is easy to use and navigate. The company also offers a free e-book download that discusses muscle anatomy and offers helpful tips for massaging various muscles.
I received the Moji Curve PRO and the Moji Foot Pro for review. The Moji Curve PRO is a massaging stick with four stainless steel massage spheres in the middle and easily gripped handles on each end. What is unique with the PRO is that it can be placed in the freezer for an ice massage. The spheres rotate 360 degrees so that the Curve can be used in any direction and it only weighs 1.25 pounds so it can easily travel with me to races. The Moji Curve PRO retails for $49.99 and can be purchased on the site and from numerous online or brick and mortar retailers.
The Moji Foot PRO has six stainless steel massage spheres that fit into a base that sits flat on most any surface. It can also be placed in the freezer for an ice massage. Use is simple, roll your foot around on the spheres, or use pressure on a single sphere for targeted relief. Like the Moji Curve the spheres rotate 360 degrees so the user can rotate their foot any direction. The Moji Foot PRO retails for $39.99 and can be purchased on the site and from numerous online or brick and mortar retailers.
I am really excited to use these products. I struggle with tight hamstrings, arch and general foot soreness. I have already begun using the products. I try to use the Moji Foot PRO anytime I am at our dinner table, like now as I am writing this report. I also try to work in 5 or so minutes with the Moji Curve PRO nightly. I work mainly on my hamstrings. It easier to keep next to my bed to do the massage so I have not stuck either in the freezer to see how they work as ice massagers.
This concludes my initial report. Please check back in a month for my update!
Thanks to 4alloutdoors.org and to Moji for providing the products for this review.
