I tried out the Kelty Kid Carrier (FC3) recently during a trip to a wildlife preserve. My husband and I both wore it with our 20 month old daughter (Anabel), who weighs about 20 lbs. First, I loved all the storage underneath and in the little zip-off backback that’s attached. I was able to fit a whole day’s worth of snacks/diapers/toys/water bottles/etc. without needing to bring along an extra bag. That in itself was so great since I usually feel like a pack mule on outdoor trips! The waist and shoulder straps are really comfortable and covered with mesh for better “breathe-ability” which I think helped with the “sweaty-straps” factor. I’m 5’3″ and my husband is 5’10″ so he had an easier time with the length of the carrier.

We also loved the detatchable sun/rain canopy too,(because Anabel doesn’t always like to keep her hat on). We knew she wasn’t going to get burned which was really great! Anabel sat in the carrier for lunchtime too, because the carrier has metal supports on the bottom so if you need to take it off you don’t have to take the child out. I would definitely recommend this carrier to people with older infants and toddlers.

Check back soon – we plan on using the carrier again as soon as it stops raining!
