Did you ever get something that looked useful, but you weren’t quite sure how you would use it? That’s how I felt when I first saw the SealLine Black Canyon Gear Bucket. Its a big bag – with plenty of room. The top of the bag has a buckle closure, that helps keep everything inside, inside.

Product information
I received the Medium Black Canyon Gear Bucket, and immediately took it to the lake when I went kayaking. I threw just about everything but the kayak in there. Dry clothes, snacks, water, a towel, my SealLine electronic’s case with my phone/camera in it, and bug repellent. It seemed like I kept tossing stuff in, and it never got overloaded. We went off to the lake, I paddled for a bit, stopped to snack, and paddled some more. When it was time to leave, I brushed the sand off the bottom, and put it in my car. I changed and threw my wet clothes in the bag. I got home and realized my water bottle wasn’t closed tightly. So, my clothes were even wetter – but all the water stayed inside the bag. I actually poured out about 1/2 cup of water when I got home. The bag has gone on numerous similar adventures. It always keeps sand out, and all my gear inside. It also does great keeping water in, or out.
Over Columbus Day weekend, I went camping and canoeing with a friend. I threw all the food and cooking items in the bag. I was again impressed with how much it held. I packed a cookset, utensils, small stove, a griddle for my camp stove, breakfast and lunch food, a gallon of water, seasonings, etc. We seemed to keep throwing things in the bag as we went, and it just kept taking them.

I’ve used the bag to carry returnable bottles to the redemption place – and then rinsed it out without a problem and no sticky spots. I can see using this to put vegetables from the garden in – and will probably try it in the spring. This last year – no garden because it was too rainy to put one in until mid-July.
At this point, I can’t think of too many things I’d change. If anything, I wouldn’t mine having a way to completely close the bag, but that would cut into how much it would hold. I’ll be using it during the winter when we go ice fishing. I’m curious to see how it works out on the ice and snow. We carry a lot of gear, and it will be nice if the bucket holds all our gear – or a good portion anyway. We cook lunch while ice fishing, and are usually part of a big group that spends the day out on the ice. It often turns into a cooking competition, with people trying to see how creative we can get. Creativity sometimes means more gear, lol.
