GCI Pico Arm Chair a last look

The weather has improved from cold and rainy to hot humid and sometimes rainy. In my last look, I will focus on comfort, adaptability to various surfaces, how far I was willing to carry the GCI Pico Arm Chair. I have stayed in the chair from one hour to up to four hours.

Why would I use a deck chair in the house? It is a comfortable chair takes a small amount of space. On a warm rainy day, I wanted to do a lot of reading and quickly found that my recliner was too warm to sit in due to the high humidity. To read more please click here.

GCI Pico Arm Chair

For most of the last month, it was not the most suitable weather to test an outdoor item due to rain and cool temperatures. When the weather improved, I got quality time using the GCI Pico Arm chair. When the weather was hot, I could answer a question from a local reader in my review. I will get into comfort and more on the chair back storage Caddy. To read more please click here.

Beep beep, I see a brown UPS truck, I rush out the side door, intercept the driver on the side stairs, we exchange greetings, he hands me the package and I return inside. Glancing out the window, I see the UPS truck is not there.

After opening the ends of the cardboard box I push the contents out. This package is wrapped with the instructions printed cardboard sleeve with a plastic handle. The sleeve slides off with ease revealing the carrying case with an adjustable shoulder strap. After opening the 2 side brackets the chair slides out with ease. I glance at the construction, pleased with the sturdy look of the legs and frame of the chair. I have never forgotten the chair that collapsed on me years ago. Holding the chair with the feet down I place my foot on both feet of the chair and pull up to extend the legs. I rotate the armrest per the picture on the box. In seconds the chair is ready to sit. Well, almost all the time. I find using the least amount of force works the best.  To read more please click here.

Yaktrax Run

On the way to the gym one morning I a good opportunity to test the Yaktrax Run on a flat rough icy surface.  The atmospheric conditions did not let me to try the Yaktrax Run on a flat icy ground. Then after a 2 inch snowstorm, it had warmed enough for the snow to become slush. The temperature had fallen overnight.  To learn more please click here.

Lowa Innox Ice GTX Mid hiking boots

To me, the boots I wear hiking or backpacking are the most important piece of my gear. Since I do not carry a spare pair of boots, I depend on the boots I am wearing to complete each hike. I have been partial to natural materials like leather and wool, but I have to admit that the synthetic Lowa Innox Ice GTX Mid hiking boots have changed my mind.  During this period, I was doing the same activities as the last period, except the temperatures experienced were as low as 0 F. I have worn these boots everyday with few exceptions.  To read more please click here.

Yaktrax Run

The latest snow arrived overnight and it was still snowing in the morning. With predictions of the snow turning to rain by noon, I was not inspired to do anything. As the morning progressed, the snow stopped falling and temperatures remained in the mid 20’s. I knew a few ice spots remained from a previous storm. When the snow stopped falling, there was 4-6 inches of snow on the driveway. This was the perfect time to put the Yaktrax Run on before leaving the house. I use a snow scooper to push the snow off the driveway. The extra traction made this a slip free job. I really liked the feel of the carbide spikes. I could feel that the carbide tips were there, but I was still comfortable. I felt stable and confident pushing the snow over the several icy spots.  To read more please click here.
