The Osprey Verve Hydration Pack was used during the past month on short fitness hikes and during mountain bike rides. During mountain biking the pack was mostly used for my public programs that I lead or co-lead and during my patrol of a California State Park.

The weather has been rather warm and my knee is also still bothering me quite a bit which has limited my hiking and other forms of exercise.  As a results, I have not used the Varitherms a much as I would have liked during the last phase of testing.  However, I was able to wear the Varitherm top and bottom on several occasions even though sometimes I wore just the top or just the bottom.  For instance on a day hike on April 4th I wore a pair of sweat pants and the Varitherm top under a light jacket on a short exercise hike to the holler.  To read the rest of the update along with the entire review please click here.

The days have gotten longer and the last of the snow has disappeared for another season.  For the most part, I have continued doing the same things I did during the last period, but did manage a long hike in the Middlesex Fells.

Another month has gone by with two more double centuries (200-mile road rides), a 44-mile mountain biking event, and lots of training completed. My legs are tired! I will say that the AMP PRO2 Tight helped with both my preparation and recovery.

It is now warming up in Southern California so my time wearing the Coldpruf Eco-Pro Tek Base Layers this month has been limited. I wore the top on two evening hikes and both the top and the bottom one time while mountain biking in the evenings.

The Icebreaker GT Run was provided for review purposes.

This last month has really flown by.  I really like products made from 100% Merino wool.  Since I have bought several 100% Merino wool products, I had a good idea what to expect when wearing Merino wool.  In e of being different from any 100% Merino wool product I have had before, the GT Run is first class in this style of clothing.  The GT Run is different because it is lighter, has a tighter weave, and is my first short sleeve wool shirt.  In addition, I have never worn anything for so many days on a daily basis, with results that surpass my expectations.  To read more.

Osprey has made some changes to the Verve Pack Series. The pack still has styling and a fit designed for women specifically, but there are some unique changes to this pack.

Kelty Fury 35 hanging from my hammock

I was hoping to have some longer hikes using the Kelty Fury 35 but my knee has been slow to heal.  As a matter of fact, I may have damaged it a little by doing some work that involved a lot of ladder climbing a few weeks ago.  It is now sore again and I’m walking with a slight limp that had disappeared before the work off of the ladder.  The weather for most of December, January and February also made it tough to get motivated to do much hiking.  The upshot of all this is that I have only managed 4 overnight trips  and the one long day hike I mentioned in my last update.  To read the rest of the update along with the entire review please click here.
