Have you ever needed a little bit of extra cash but as you check your wallet or pocket, you find that you don’t have any? Don’t get caught without a little extra cash. TRUE Utility (http://www.trueutility.com/) has this cool little capsule called the Cash Stash.
Here is what TRUE has to say about it:
Never run out of money again! This clever capsule has a special cash clip inside to wrap an emergency note around. It will take up hardly any room on your key-ring, yet will really get you out of trouble by covering that last round of drinks, or paying for the taxi home at the end of the night! Constructed from dark chrome plated aircraft grade aluminium with a waterproof neoprene ‘O’ ring. Never leave home without it! Also makes a perfect gift, especially if you put cash in it!!

I am reviewing this item for TRUE and I didn’t realize how small the Cash Stash was until I received it. I really couldn’t figure out how US currency was going to fit in this little vile. When I unscrewed the top of the vile, there was a fake, paper printed , English note folded and rolled up inside to show how this was possible. There is a small ‘cash clip’ inside that is used to clip onto the bill and it also aids in rolling the note to a very small diameter to fit inside the Cash Stash vile.
I first tried a couple of different folds and rolls to get a good fit and finally I figured out the best way. I found that folding the bill in thirds length wise, clipping the cash clip on one end of the bill and then rolling it up tightly, it will then fit inside the vile. I also found that if I insert one end of the bill into the lid of the vile versus the body of the vile, it makes sure it fits correctly. Because if the bill is not rolled tight enough and you insert it into the body first, the lid will not go on over the other end of the bill and screw on correctly.
Another thing I found was that only one US currency bill will fit into the vile. So depending on how much you want to put in it, it seems better to only use one bill. To me the Cash Stash would be great as an emergency stash compartment. It’s a little to hard to use on a normal basis for holding money and retrieving it such as a wallet or just putting into a pocket. But I know when I have had times I wished I had an extra $10 bill or $20 bill, it would have been nice to have had the Cash Stash.
I will be carrying the Cash Stash around with me on my key chain for the next couple of months to see how durable it is and to see if it bothers me while on my key chain. Stay tuned for more updates….
