Ironically, I received the Bogs Plimsoll boot to review during the driest September in 60 years. I’m sure October and/or November in Maine will make up for it though. The boots are a bit more stylish than my old Bogs ‘barn boots’, but if the quality is the same, I’ll be thrilled.
The fit is comfortable, and they feel well cushioned. I’m hoping that also means that not only will my feet be dry, but also warm. I’m tempted to wear them on a short hike along the river, just so I can try them out in wet conditions.
I took the boot out of the box, and thought they sent the wrong size. I wear a women’t 9.5/10 and these looked HUGE. Well, they fit perfectly and once on don’t look overly big. Just a bit of a surprise coming out of the box. I’ve never been petite, or dainty by any means, but didn’t like the idea of my feet looking any bigger than they really are. I am glad that it appears to have been an optical illusion.
The tread on the bottom of the boot appears to be fairly rugged, and I’m anxious to see how much traction they provide on wet leaves, rocks and of course mud. I prefer to stay upright when outdoors.
